I'm not aware of any states that would prosecute an individual who use deadly force in self defense. In my state we have the castle doctorine law which basically extends the use of deadly force to not only for self preservation but to your property as well. In other words if some tool is trying to jack your car you will not be prosecuted if you shoot and kill as he drives off.

Saying that most CCWers would NEVER use deadly force to protect property. Not worth a human life no matter how big of a scumbag they are to protect property.

I've never had to pull a weapon though I've had my hand on the weapon and ready to draw once.

How many of you have pulled out a knife or gun in self defense? And do you know anyone who has (shot or stabbed someone in defense and gotten away with it)?
yes. without getting into too many details, a close friend was a victim of a home invasion. they shot several of the bad guys. they were later caught at the hospital. my friend and his dad never faced any consequences. the bad guys are still in prison

Not to derail, and i see your point. But where it gets fuzzy in my opinion is what you see vs. reality. Pumped up on adrenaline...assailant may have fake gun, dull knife, or you may never even see the object he possesses. Police come under scrutiny for this.
But i guess being judged by a jury would give you the better odds. ;)

Moot points.

i carry, as do 75% of my buddys. why? because we can, the knowledege too, and are real people. who are willing to stand and be counted. i carry my mossberg 500 persuader alot yes its big and bulky but its also legal w/o permit too. as long as it is in plain sight. dont gewt to much crap when youre impounding someones car w/ it in th back window and the cops are cool with it:)

what?!? you can walk around with a shotgun? can we do that in FL? probably not :(

you might be suprised, lots of states allow long guns to be carried as long as in plain view. put the same gun under the blanket in the backseat and get a free ride to concrete hotel.

where can i find my state laws on this specific issue?
