I AM LEGEND!
wow.....i had like 3 5 gallon buckets my parents started to use it to store garbage etc. and became hella dirty.... i got scared for my fishes health so i went out and bought my own 18 gallon tub. I see my dad one day using it to rinse off our dog and im like ok w/e just dont use soap. Today my sis is washing our dog and im like dont use my bucket and she's like why?? and i said you might get soap or something and can possibly kill my fish and shes like so i already used it once already minus well let me use it again:irked::irked::irked: and im like WTF.... wow your not scared of anything happening cause YOU dont loose anything it's like me running downstairs taking you dresses out from your drawers and using it to dry something! and she was like dont worry i'll clean it good :chillpill::chillpill::chillpill:......this is bs....im saying like she doesnt care because if all my fishes die she would probally be like "o to bad your fault ur a bad fish keeper" she just doesnt know all the time and money we spend in this hobby......

P.S. sorry just had to get that out there. Anyone can relate do this?

Yea I can definitely relate... my one "fish" bucket became transformed into the soap bucket for mopping the floor. I was not happy.:nono:

Every time they use your fish bucket for the dog, use their toothbrush to clean the toilet.

yea but since im the youngest one they would end up just telling me to get them water while there sick a cr_p

I seriously... would hide my water changing buckets ect in my closet... lol.. and store my syphon and extra aquarium equipment in it. the more fish crap I could find the better. It kept my family out of my fish buckets. Particulalry old deco and other "less then fresh" looking things.

But then when my mom did borrow a bucket for soapy stuff.. I borrowed one of her's to wash my horses tail. because I had to use my "nasty barn buckets" for washing the horses tail in...:D.. My Dad thought it was funny... but then he had fish tanks in the past. he knows the fish bucket rules.

Keeping buckets put away in your room or another out of site / out of the way place will help prevent others from using them. Also, the suggestion of keeping them full of aquarium supplies is also effective.

Been there long time ago but I get your frustration. Not much point in getting even now escalating family discontent never works well if you still have to live with them. Just keep the stuff in your room and move out as soon as the opportunity presents itself.

Yeah you could move out, but think about all the rent money you could spend on fishtanks if you stayed at home! I wish i would have stayed longer back when i had the chance.
