happened to me before with *shock* paint, and then paint thinner to help "get all the paint out and make it clean again for fish water". thankfully i smelled it before i actually used it for anything.

just a bit of humor and perspective... we all need it from time to time...
No kidding ... Especially in this one :nilly:

WOW! a whole $10.00.... I bet they don't even feed you every day... or pay for the electricity your aquarium uses...

... it sucks when people use your stuff, but even if they ruin your bucket, you should keep in mind that you are still living in someone elses house and using their resources... and that is likely the only reason you have an extra $10.00 to spend on a fish bucket.

so, perhaps intead of expecting them to move "your" bucket, you cold keep it put away and out of sight.

being a kid is tough, but becoming an adult takes alot more effort.

good luck!:)
haha true but how many kids go out and pay for their own bucket?!!!!

not many, that's for sure...

... Most kids find them for free!;)

... try looking behind McDonalds or other fast food or deli type places. They buy pickles in 5g buckets and throw them away when their done.

Donut shops are another source -- donut filling buckets can be hard to clean, but my local shop (when I was a kid) sold cleaned buckets for $1.00... I just took the dirty ones because I was broke.

also, home depot sells buckets for $5, but they are a lower quality bucket with a thin bottom.

OK, one final tip, draw fish on the outside of your buckets with magic marker and label them "fish only"... may or may not help, but will make you feel better anyway.

lol yea i think im going to save up for a phyton a lot easier cleaner and it doesnt have that loud water fall sound so they would never know when and how long im doing a WC for :naughty:

I think a lot of the frustrations could be avoided by simply explaining exactly why it is important that people not use your bucket. Rather than simply saying they are for "fish use only" explain that if they are used for anything else that it could potentially result in the death of your beloved pets. People are usually a lot more receptive when things are explained to them completely, rather than just being told to or not to do somthing.

Mine water change bucket says CAUTION OXIDIZER but my family doesnt use it. My dad kept a few oscars when he was little but nothin major i think he likes my fish he will stare and ask if i fed or did water changes

i bought like 4 buckets since they were on sale, and just keep dry stuff in one, water changing equipment in the other, and stacked the other 2 under the other buckets.

my GF wont touch the full ones, but on of the empty ones has 25lbs of rabbit food now...lol...

lets just say she can keep that one

My sister likes how the fish spaz out so she always throws like socks at the tank and also wipes her smudgy hands all over the glass. I keep all my fish stuff under my stand.
I bet if u put ur sis hand in the tank all she will have left of her hand is the bones. If i was the fish i wld jump out and bit her nose off!
