Mine water change bucket says CAUTION OXIDIZER but my family doesnt use it. My dad kept a few oscars when he was little but nothin major i think he likes my fish he will stare and ask if i fed or did water changes

I think a lot of the frustrations could be avoided by simply explaining exactly why it is important that people not use your bucket. Rather than simply saying they are for "fish use only" explain that if they are used for anything else that it could potentially result in the death of your beloved pets. People are usually a lot more receptive when things are explained to them completely, rather than just being told to or not to do somthing.

I really feel for you buddy.
As a 15 year old fish keeper myself, I gotta deal with stuff like this on a daily basis. If I'm not getting bombarded with questions like "why do you change the water every week?!" or "Why can't I spray windex on the glass!?"; I get parents using my buckets to hold bleach or soap.

It gets really annoying, so therefore I keep my buckets hidden

I use windex on my glass... have for years... outside only is the key LOL

of course vinager and water is better with no risk of contamination

Haha thats rediculous. My parents didnt like the idea of tanks and vivariums in the house at first but soon got over it, and my dads almost an enthusiast now lol
Thank god my parents and slightly older brother respect my things and trust that if i say please dont do that its for a good reason (and vice-versa)
Id try having a serious talk with your parents explaining the importance of it and your not just being stupid and if they cant respect your things or the fact that youve tried to have a serious talk with them then its time to worry, just hide it away or get a lock lol
If that fails just KICK OFF!!!!

my mom or brothers dont use my stuff lol cause its in my room

and i cant stand when they come into the room and are like where is the fish ? is it dead ( my mom does this every freaking day NO KIDDING )
and im like did you look under the rock mom ,,,, lol

and i dont even let my brothers in cause they mess with stuff and i cant stand it

This really made me laugh, my mum is EXACTLY the same, ive lost count of the times ive been woken up and dived out of bed because my mums come bursting into my room and said, your fish is on its side ist dead (clown loach) or its upside down under the wood, it isnt moving (L14 and megalodoras cats) it makes me so angry. Ive now dived out of bed my heart pounding run downstairs in my boxers past the front door and windows and am stood in the middle of the room like an idiot to discover that the fish is fine it just my mums an idiot lol

dude it irratates me soooooooooooo bad

i was realy upset when see said that about my flowerhorn i was in bed and my mom came in and my fh was in his little hide out sleeping and she was like where is he ? he must have jumped out you have no top on the tank

i jumped out of bed walked 3ft to my tank and did my thing where i touch the water and it always gets the fh up and following my fingers and my little baby shoots out of his hole and come bites my finger

i was soo happy to see that he was ok lol
