This really made me laugh, my mum is EXACTLY the same, ive lost count of the times ive been woken up and dived out of bed because my mums come bursting into my room and said, your fish is on its side ist dead (clown loach) or its upside down under the wood, it isnt moving (L14 and megalodoras cats) it makes me so angry. Ive now dived out of bed my heart pounding run downstairs in my boxers past the front door and windows and am stood in the middle of the room like an idiot to discover that the fish is fine it just my mums an idiot lol

Every time they use your fish bucket for the dog, use their toothbrush to clean the toilet.

Really this happened to me only difference was my parents told me i had to pay for the electra and water for my tank. we had a pile of like 7-10 buckets in the garge and theyd take mine out of my room. its just a fact of life and it really got me mad. what i started to do is leave the dirty water in my buckets. then i got smart and knew i lived in the basement and kept them outside my window in the hole.

i used to get told the same thing from my mother "if you rise the bucket they will be fine they dont need a clean room." "its not that clean in the wild" "a dirty bucket wont do as much harm has that net your using" the list goes on and on

Yup I'd say screw the buckets and get a Aquaria 25' or 50' VAC. It also saves your back from lugging heavy buckets.

I laid down the law on day one. Never had a problem. Made sure they knew they had to replace it if they used it. So they don't.
