no offense, but you cannot even begin to compare the two.
The animals you eat are dead but the raw vegies are alive, right? So in fact you are eating them alive, I always found that funny.

This is oing WAY too far... Read the las sentance in yellow on the fishing one...

What amazes me about these people is that they seem to put so much energy into "protecting" animals, but don't seem to care about traumatising young children with their outlandish images...!!!

And is it just me, or does the "fisherman dad" look like Guppy..?!

I kill spiders. And ants. And bees. I kill ticks too, burn those sons of b$tches.

As for the fishing one, guess the point we're trying to teach the fish is Don't take candy from strangers?

i think its funny that think they can sway peoples thinking with this sort of stuff. cause nothing they can say or do will make me stop hunting and fishing.

I agree with PETA on this issue, however their approach is lacking.

The part about the family's companion animal being next is indeed way off as I believe someone who hunts or goes fishing is not going to automatically move on to killing their companion animal.

I would think that anyone who keeps an aquarium for a long time would come to understand fish a bit more then the average public. That they have feelings such as fear, happiness etc. I'm guessing this is more true of the more highly developed large fish that many people here keep who have "personalities".

Fishing is an old traditional way of hunting fish and it seems people just are continuing to do it because it's an old tradition. If people are going to eat fish, there should be a more humane way to hunt them. Some method that stuns them for catch and release and kills them as quickly and humanely as possible for people who are hunting for food.

Why is it that people who fish find it totally acceptable to hang a wounded fish from the air to have a trophy picture?.
I've never seen this in other forms of hunting, like say have this wounded rabbit squiggling about or a half dead deer with an arrow poking out while someone shots a trophy picture of what they "caught".

I see the trophy hunting aspect as another bad part of fishing. When it comes to fish, the large individuals are needed for the breeding population. Thus while I love seeing the biggest fish of X species, this aspect bothers me. The more rare the fish, the more the breeding population needs to be left in the water.
This is like cutting down apple trees because you want to eat apples, it just doesn't make sense in the long run.

As for showing children shocking pictures of cruel things that happen, how will they handle life later if they are totally sheltered from reality?. It does need to be handled right. Once again, the right approach and when they are ready. This comes down to approach again as I feel PETA should not be handing out fliers publically to children without their parents consent.
