I dont think the black variant is a different species, a sub species, or locality variation. Rather, like all other animals, the black trait is just a melanistic genetic anomaly.

nose makes me think it is a vitatus. def initely not goliath. If it is a sub-species it is not a sub of goliath. I have seen some weird looking goliaths but that most probably is not a goliath sub.
