Just bought a 300gl (8'x30"x2') and need some non-silica sand for the tank. Anyone selling some used sand? Or know where to get some on the WEST Side (L.A Area)??????????

Would perfer Black (to match the black back) or White

What color??
Is this good for Rays?????

Dude, for 3M Colorquartz, just find a pool builder or a couple of them and ASK! 2 bags will not be enough. I used 4 S grade in a 180 for 3 1/2". I got them from a place in Riverside. $17.50 a bag.

If you don't mind paying a bit more of a price - distributor or thereabouts - for the stuff intended for aquariums then check out www.marinedepot.com

They're located in Anaheim and offer prices competitive with places like Drsfostersmith.com or BigAlsOnline.com but offer Will Call/Customer Pick Up.

I use them to get substrates and other heavy items - to avoid shipping charges. Just picked up 80 lbs. of torpedo sand last Friday at $11.50 every 20 lbs.

I must be retarded or something:screwy:
I googled some pool builders and they each said they dont sell or know where to buy it from:irked: (Although, 1 said Home Depot).

Anyone know where to get some non-silica Sand (T-Grade) in L.A Area???????
LFS around here dont carry it:irked::irked::irked::irked:

all sand and gravel contains silica i believe.....what are you looking for ??????? ?:confused: :confused::confused:

see building mterials division of http://www.bourgetbros.com/contact_location.htm westside

You will not find it in an LFS. I am suprised they haven't figured out to carry it yet, and even if they did, you'd be paying like $30-40 a bag.
I have no idea where to find it in LA. I will try to find that place in Riverside. Probably the most I can do for ya!
