LOL..... This all goes back to the arguement I keep having with everyone on tank size.... They need room. Sooner or later people WILL see eye to eye with me on this. All it takes is ONE aggressive charge into something and it can be over. If people are raising them from babies and never see the skiddish nature they exibit every once in a while then they are NOT paying attention enough or at the right times.

Tank size is already a given. Armatus owners just have to be a step ahead of their armatus'. I learned early on that having driftwood or anything sharp that Raider could bump into and hurt himself on was out. I even took out all catfish cause I knew that at night they would freak Raider out and cause him to injure himself.

Sorry for derail JD. Oh anything metallic and spotty would be a sweet buy!

I still REALLY want an armatus but Im not going to pay some one $300-400 for one when they paid $50 for it 6 weeks ago! Especially with how common they are now!

I really wish Wes was still importing.

Common or not.. Armatus is Armatus.. chances are they have more appeal then just not being common.

I got my 4" armatus from RW for $250 shipped last year when they were very rare and hadnt been imported since Mr. Fear himself brought like eight of them in. I sold him for $600 4 months later at 12" in size. To my knowledge he was the first armatus offered for sale on MFK that was completley off of live and hand feeding. Not to mention his phenomenal growth. So, in summary Im willing to pay up to $200 for a juvi armatus which is still alot considering I paid only slightly more SHIPPED from RW back before they were imported in any numbers.

I don't even know if george brought 8 in.. I always assumed it was less than that..

Yeah $140 for shipping for a 2" fish is crazy. Especially since Ive shipped myself and I know you can get it cheaper. That is what was and still is keeping me from buying from Rich. His great selection and fantastic prices are negated with shipping cost. I know one thing, if I was local to him Id be a poor, single, lonely man but with lots of cool fish!

Rich refunds what you don't use on shipping. Like if you pay $140.00 and it comes to be $90.00 he gives you the part refunded. I lost my armatus but it's still taking me everything to keep from ordering another from rich.

All in all rare fish is a waiting game. Sometimes for the not so uber rare it becomes a seek and find mission. You can get rare stuff earlier than the rest with a big $$$ and connections. And even still sometimes you have to wait.
