Never getting either! Hell any hacker can probably make it happen the NSA can probably turn your kinect in a drone or some crap

Yes but Is that any different then the playstation camera for the PS4 though? It has the same features including voice command. I dont get why call it out for one console and not the other?

PS4 camera is an optional accessory you have to actually buy separately. While the kinect is an "integral" part of the system.

Anyone curious, this is a good article.

Let me get this straight, xbox sells their kinect sensor with their system but you are NOT required to use it or even plug it in and that makes it somehow different then the playstation camera just because the xbox did a better job of using its accessories?

But... But... But... Make your own decision on that one bro. :) If it doesn't give you pause that there are now essentially millions of potential monitoring systems in households across the world, since you can "just turn it off" (mmhmm) and "lose some features," is that something to just brush off and sing lalala about?
Remember Microsoft flip flopped on the whole thing to begin with too?

They tried to scan my ID at chevron last night too. Got a laugh out of that one. The laws are very fuzzy in that arena if you start looking into it, and not legally required by any means! Hmm

But if you don't want to use the camera for anything why should you be forced to pay for it to automatically come with the system? Why can't I put that $60 towards a game I want instead of a camera I don't?

Is the kinect/ps4 cam really any different to laptops with built in webcams (when the laptop is on)? Or smart tvs? Smart tvs are 'always on' waiting for a command. I think this is being blown way out or proportion. Can't government agencies already monitor through cellphones? I think somebody has decided it is a good weapon to use against the xbox, either forgetting or hoping people dont realise the same technology is in use elsewhere.

Are we necessarily just talking about what you will do with your xbox?

Seems to me we're just finding every way to avoid acknowledging that the ps4 has the same exact feature and neither are required. Moving on

Inglorious, because they can? Its the only realistic reason.

Btw, i believe the ps4 is better, but im not going to share skewed "facts" though. I still desire an xbox one more for their exclusives and better game line up thus far

Article I posted is a good read. A laptop is closed when not in use, cell phones in pockets, purses, etc. This is on a different level and where will we be in 10 years? And yes, smart TVs were actually already hacked.
