XBOX took a crap on me

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
it aint my fault the system is prone to over heating so easily. all im doing is what the xbox rep told me.

his exact words:
"if some how you can make ur system show red flashing lights, we would fix it at no charge... if you know what im trying to say"
me:
"are u telling me to break my xbox?"
him:
"i can't actually tell you to do that, but if ur xbox had red flashing lights, we would have to fix it at no charge, if you know what i mean"

i don't see fraud out of this, i see me doing whats necessary to get this 400dlr paper weight fixed.

Oh, that's definitely fraud...but I don't blame you...I expect my 360 to run too. Just be careful, ethnics...make sure you cover all of your bases.

Yes, if you get the ring of death Microsoft has stated that it is there fault and that they will fix any xbox whether there is a warranty or not if you receive the red ring for free. They admited that it was poorly placed. Thats why they want the red ring or else you have to pay to get it fixed.

I was 5 minutes into assassins creed. My XBOX couldn't handle the insane graphics and sh*t itself.;)

My PS2 is still alive and kicking since 2000.
My Xbox was returned within the first month of owning it.
My replacement Xbox was returned withing the next 3 months.
My Xbox 360 is still kicking...but I get hardware errors

My brothers PS2 is still alive and kicking since 2000.
My brothers Xbox 360 got the ring of death and was replaced.
My brothers replacement Xbox 360 got the ring of death and was replaced.

i left my PS2 on for 4 days straight without even knowing when i first got it(about a year after they were on the market) and its still works fine.

i'm getting a 360 for xmas..hope i dont see that ring..

PS2 purchased in 2000 and used to play grand theft auto 2 in 2003 when I didn't have a memory card, resulting in being left on for nearly a month:

still worked great before I sold it like 2 months ago.;)

I still wish I had spent the extra on a ps3.I still would have wound up having to get an xbox for certain games that could not go unplayed but at least that way I would still be playing assassins creed right now.:irked:

I have 3 Xboxes and have never had a problem with any until I changed a case in one and the cd drive catches when it closes, easy enough to fix just cant be stuffed.
I've never had any problems with my 360, but I know I am lucky, in my house there are 4 360's and we have a 50% 3 rings of death average. But then again, I've never played 10+ hrs none stop.
There aren't as many problems with the PS3 cause there are no games so no one is playing them :)

I had my PS1 die for no real reason, just wouldn't start one day, and my PS2 slim melted its own wiring on a hot day, PS said I must have modded it, why would I bother I only played Harvest Moon?

I left my 360 on playing oblivion to raise my stats, I was crouching in the dark walking into the wall to raise my stealth, it was on for a week when I remembered, still works great, but it didn't have to load new areas so I don't think it was running hot like if I was playing it. One advantage of having a 360 is it can heat your house while you play, and if you set it up for thermal energy I sure it could power itself and the tv your playing on :D

Im getting PS3.

Gran Tourismo ftw.

haha I used to hear ppl spreading rumors that Ps3's melted down... and that you should buy an Xbox instead. My friend bought a ps3 when they came out and its still workin great. So much for Xbox, I hope their customer service is good. I dont even play games but I'd haveta say Xbox has better games out right now.

I bought an Xbox when it first came out and it's still working great.

Not saying Xbox hasn't had problems, just that because a friend bought one and it's working great doesn't indicate reliability compared to the other.

We've left our Xbox on for days before with no issues. We also have friends that bought Xboxes at the same time as us (first day they were sold here), and they haven't had any problems either.
The only thing we make sure to do is run it in a completely open area where it can vent, not in a cabinet or something.
