Taiwanese Micro Dragon Goby
Schismatogobius ampluvinculus
Size: 1”
pH: 7.0-8.0
Tank size: 5G/1 small group
Country of origin: Japan, Taiwan, Philippines
Diet: Live foods, can be weaned onto frozen and even dry foods
Temperament: Peaceful. Best kept in groups
Temperature: 65-75° F
Description
Schismatogobius ampluvinculus is a small, temperate goby native to certain Asian countries. Unlike many other gobies in the aquarium trade, these fish are completely peaceful, and are known to do very well in groups, both large and small. A fascinating detail about this fish is that it has the ability to change its color, somewhat akin to that of a chameleon.
Almost like an African version of a flagtail.DAY 141

Freshwater Moonfish
Citharinus citharus
Size: 2’
pH: 7.0-8.5
Tank size: 300G/1 small group
Country of origin: Gambia, Senegal, Niger, Ghana, Benin, Chad
Diet: Enjoys to graze on algae and biofilm, though most dry, frozen, and live foods of a appropriate size will likely work
Temperament: Large and robust. Will likely get along with similarly-sized fish
Temperature: 70-80° F
Description
Citharinus citharus, though a somewhat important food fish within its natural range, is very rare in the aquarium hobby. Little is known about their care. These large characins make for very interesting schooling fish in large aquariums, and would likely be good dither fish alongside very large monster fish.
