Description

Neoarius berneyi is a mid-sized catfish similar in many ways to the popular Columbian shark catfish, Ariopsis seemanni. This species, despite coming from a family of mainly marine catfish, is completely freshwater. Despite being similar to other, more commercially available catfish, Neoarius berneyi is still an interesting species worth keeping.

Description

Brachirus villosus is a somewhat rare, true freshwater sole. Like all flatfish, including the aforementioned species from this thread, these fish require a fine sand substrate to burrow. Harder substrates such as gravel may damage their delicate skin. This species is not known from brackish waters.

Description

Sicyopterus lagocephalus is a small, widespread goby native to several parts of Africa and Oceania, as well as certain areas of Asia. Males of this species develop a brilliant blue color upon maturing. This species is able to climb walls using modified fins, forming a suction cup. This feature is similar to that of clingfish, goby relatives of the family Gobiesociformes.
