Bumblebee Grouper
Epinephelus lanceolatus

Size: 8’
pH: 7.0-8.0
Tank size: 10000G/Individual
Country of origin: Perhaps the most widespread grouper in the world, occurring throughout large portions of the Indo-Pacific
Diet: Most live, frozen, and prepared foods of an appropriate size will suffice
Temperament: Aggressive, may tolerate similarly-sized and slightly smaller fish
Temperature: 75-80° F
sg: 1.010-1.025

Description

Ending week nine, also known as brackish week, is one of the largest fish, no less brackish fish in the trade. Epinephelus lanceolatus is a unique grouper due to the fact that they often live in brackish water, and even enter freshwater from time to time. Much like the aforementioned Atlantic tarpon, this fish is absolutely ridiculous for any average fishkeeper. A rare leucistic version is available here.

Also a prime example of an ugly duckling. While it may start out with that attractive bumblebee pattern, that turns into this.

Even though they are drab as adults, still pretty bad@$$ like any large grouper.
Definitely a bucket list fish…

I think i am in love! These guys are known as queensland groupers in Aus and are restricted sp in some states.
My dream brackish fish, but they just simply get to big to house in common aquariums, i think a pond would be best.

A saltwater pond would be awesome! Recently, I have been going to a local marine-protected beach called Swami's. I've been interested in the fish in the tidepools. Perhaps you could try doing a tidepool day or few days?
I’d love to do one properly and use it as a way to get views on youtube.

Definitely has to be indoors for a pond to keep from evaporation and rain screwing with salinity.

Evaporation sucks with brackish, hardest thing about it. Constant water top ups/changes
