Burmese Archerfish
Toxotes blythii

Size: 6”
pH: 7.0-8.0
Tank size: 55G/1 small group
Country of origin: Myanmar
Diet: Live and frozen foods
Temperament: Peaceful towards larger fish, though very predatory. Aggressive towards own species when kept in groups too small
Temperature: 75-80° F

Description

Much like the aforementioned Toxotes microlepis and Toxotes mekongensis, this species is capable of life in pure freshwater. And, like mekongensis, this species is only known to survive in freshwater. While this species was once a very rare export, it is rather easy nowadays to get your hands on some. They are perhaps the most popular archerfish in many parts of the US trade.

According to Wikipedia, T. microlepis may just be T. blythii. I learned that a few days ago and thought I'd mention it here.

African Pike-Characin
Phago loricatus

Tank size: 40G/Individual
Country of origin: Benin, Cameroon, Nigeria
Diet: Live foods. May be able to be weaned onto frozen foods
Temperament: Predatory, may tolerate similarly-sized fish
Temperature: 75-80° F

Description

Phago loricatus is a rare African characin with a slim, somewhat pike-like figure. These predatory fish are best kept either alone or in groups of the same species. However, they could be kept with some other species. Care should be taken, as they are rather aggressive, and known to be very frequent fin nippers.

Clown Catfish
Gagata dolichonema

Size: 5”
pH: 6.5-7.5
Tank size: 55G/1 small group
Country of origin: China, Myanmar
Diet: Most live, frozen, and prepared foods of an appropriate size will suffice
Temperament: Relatively peaceful, though predatory
Temperature: 75-80° F

Description

Gagata dolichonema is a very rare Asian catfish. They are similar in a number of ways to Pimelodus catfish, however, they belong to a different family. They are actually more closely related to goonch catfish and other similar species. Best kept in a group. It is also best that any tankmates are of an appropriate size, as catfish are naturally predatory.

Kind of running low on ideas tbh.

Thanks for putting all this information together there were some of my native fishes I didn't even knew about until I read your post.

Ideas suggestion, have you done one on Rita catfish ? They are absolutely adorable looking a bit difficult to get though even in their native range.
Or maybe one of the other old-world Catfish they are really underrated group.

Clarotes laticeps, Hemibagrus wykioides, Chrysichthys cranchii, Clarias nieuhofii, Wallagonia leerii/micropogon,
Pangasius larnaudii probably a lot more that I don't even know about.

Maybe you should check out species normally collected for food trade too thing like Acantopsis are not even considered ornamental fishes here but I really like them.
