Yep, he should be spawning. When they get older, their red gets crazy!!! If the females are being aggressive towards eachother, that's just normal behavior, so don't worry. I might get a juvenile trio, two males and one female at 1.5 inches for $24.00 related to the male pictured, because I just found out that a 3 inch male is $24, which I would rather get a trio then a single male.

Yeah, i'm with on that. I'd also rather have the trio for that price then a single male...They'll grow.

What other things do I need to watch for as far as signs of spawning?

Exactly, so I'll be getting the trio instead.

The male kyoga flameback will try to entice a female to a breeding spot. He will then make sure there is no other fish near his breeding site, so he will chase away all others. He should also be digging up gravel and moving it. Their color shows best when they are spawning, so just be patient. They should be spawning though, good luck with it. Get some pictures as well.

Awesome fulu, me want!

Picked up 3 more females today...Wanted another male but they were gone. I did talk them into giving me a better price since they only had the 3 females left with no male.

I think I have a couple that might be trying to spawn...The male and female are back in a corner and he was kind of shaking and they were going in little circles. What do you think. This is my first time with these so am not sure.

Here is a new pic of my male. It is really hard to get a pic showing his brilliant color.
