Just to let you know if you didn't, there are two victorian cichlids that go by flameback, the more common Xystichromis flameback AKA Haplochromis flameback and the more rare Xystichromis Kyoga Flameback.

Yeah, I did see that in my lookings...I checked to see if that was what I had, which after looking I knew it was not.

Good to hear. The kyoga flamebacks also go by the name "All red lake nawampasa" and there is also another Victorian cichlid that goes by the name "All red lake edward". Just so you wouldn't confuse the two. Victorian cichlids are just complicated. Sorry if I'm bugging you, lol. I'm pretty sure you know already. :D

No, that's totally cool!!! I don't know a lot about the Vic's but have done lots of checking...a lot of them look quite similar. I am so happy about my lucky find!!!! Hopefully they'll still have some left tomorrow. Do you think it's a problem if I end up with another male too? I hope they still have some more females also. We'll see.

Yep, you happened to be in the right place at the right time. :)
If you end up with two males, that is perfect, just leave it as be. The sub-dominant male will give the dominant male competition and encourage him to breed more. They are peaceful victorians and won't do much harm towards eachother. If you end up with multiple males, there is only one thing you can do...........

give them to me!!!!!!! :ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

I haven't noticed...they all seem to be fairly hard for me to find. lol!!

I didn't realize but I sell Hap. Flamebacks and someone asked if the were from Lake Victoria or Lake Nawampasa and when I said they were the Vics the guy said he hasn't seen them around in quite a while. Said he hasn't been able to find them but he can find the Kyogas.

Lol, are you serious? I can find the common haplochromis flamebacks way more easier. I can never find the kyoga flamebacks. Maybe it's just you.....
