so the rubber pleco i got from my lfs today is gonna turn gold or not i got it for $5 :nilly:
 
The pleco you purchased is commonly known as a rubberlip, rubbernose plecos. Chaetostoma species often sell for $5-15, and are quite common in my area.

what is the scientific names for the colour morhping ones? and how big or old until they change?
 
It's a change they undergo as they become sexually mature. The condition oddball describes in the melanistic, axanthic, leucistic etc fish photo thread, nearer the end.
 
I'm still looking for one or two of these guys . . . Anyone have any tips or ideas on where I can get one? Pleeeeeaase?
