Skjl, I completely agree with the issue of over population, from 1912 to 2012 the population went from around 1 billion to over 7 billion. Will veganism help this? Maybe, itl certainly create more free land space that was previously used for farming, and the decrease in greenhouse gasses will result in a better climate so there wouldn't be as many man made uninhabitable areas around the world. But what I want to discuss is that eating meat and dairy is causing serious issues, and at the end of the day, is it really worth it?
what happens when more people create more methane?

Predator, exactly my point, with all the creature comforts we have hunting is unnecessary, but in a global survival situation it would be to survive. I never said it was an unnecessary tool, I said that today, in this world, in your life, its unnecessary. In the event of global collapse we would definitely see who is and isnt prepared, I may be, you may be not, its a complete hypothetical.
And in my vegan utopia when wild animal population becomes a genuine issue to human survival, which it may or may not happen as this too is a hypothetical, then anyone who is willing and able to hunt and kill these wild animals is, in my opinion entitled to eat that animal. It all comes down to neccesity over want.

With the way the world is now, with all the efforts to go green, people are producing very little methane, and the earth is capable of dealing with this, its not capable of dealing with the millions of tons pumped into our atmosphere because of farm animals.

You are correct, the earth will soldier on after we are gone, probably. But why make it and ourselves suffer in the meantime? That's like giving someone a routine surgery and not giving them pain meds. Why? Cause they will survive without, so why bother? It's the easy way out that requires the least amount of effort and has the maximum consequences, which in our case would be extinction.
And yes hunting is cruel and unnecessary, you don't NEED that meat, so why go out and kill it? There's plenty at the supermarket? And in terms of digesting meat, it doesnt matter if its wild or factory bred, our intestines aren't good at digesting it. Look at a carnivors digestive track, its shorter than ours and has much more concentrated stomach acid. My argument isn't if we can or can't physically eat meat, but whether if we should?

I believe the resistance you are encountering in this thread, is that you are making very strong assertions. I respect that you feel strongly about your viewpoint, but I also personally feel that I NEED meat, which puts us at an impasse. If you wanted to convince people to eat vegan, why not do it with verified scientific evidence?

I am not close minded, I'm open to persuasion.

Ok so NOW its necessary and will be allowed in your fantasy. Got it. Well I can assure you my theory of global collapse and survival is far more immanent. It only takes 30 seconds reading or watching the news to see that. I'd rather hunt now and be ready than wait for it to happen and have to learn how to live again.

Guys, it's too hypothetical when you make a point but it's 100% ok for him to throw out hypothetical points.

directed at me or OP? Make no mistake I just love debating, I harbor no ill will to anyone's life choices regardless of how harsh I come across the internet.

The best part is...when my theory comes to fact, I'll be able to hunt and eat vegans who are to weak to run after waiting for their gardens to sprout. cannibalism endgame win.
