You know you're a MonsterFishKeeper when....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
When your entire family and all of your close friends know the name of your biggest fish.

When your grandmother regularly asks how your fish and Reptiles are doing, mentioning each by name.

When your little sister who isn't a fish freak cries over the death of your favorite ]v[0NSTER :(

When your plan for what do do during a break-in involves reaching into your tank for a piece of bogwood and clocking the guy in the skull with it, and it would actually work.

When you spend more time on mfk then any other websites and instant messengers combined.

There are other web sites? Wow! I am going to have to check into that some time.

you have 100+ tanks but still have more than enough eager, happy volunteers to help you move because YOU are their lfs

your dog jumps up at the tank glass and the fish don't back down

you have to sedate your fish to move them

you hear a tornado warning, walk into each room of your house and invariably mutter, "I'm screwed"

instead of upgrading a tank for a fish, you upgrade your house for a tank

you buy a second refrigerator to keep your fish food in

you go to lfs and ask questions just to see what kind of answers they give

you know enough scientific names to count latin as a secondary language

a burglar breaks into your house and is scared off, not by the sound of a barking dog, but of the thrashing around of your fish

you're still awake at almost 4am thinking up new and funny ways to know when you're a fish nerd

:D

You know you're a ]V[0NSTER Reptile keeper when, when you feel something in your throat, you swallow immediately for fear of caughing up an escaped feeder cricket.

From actual experience today....

when you accidentally tip half a container of food in and think "meh, it'll get eaten"...

Tipped about 5 times the usual amount of colourbits in my overstocked 160g loach/geophagus tank, after already adding a handful of sinking cichlid gold, initial thought was oh s***! but then remembered they weren't fed last night and sure enough it was gone within minutes.

When your water change is more than 5x the entire water tank of ordinary folks.
