When I was little my mom had a giant tank with 2 Oscar's, a big catfish and pleco. Sadly they died in a fire.

My first tabk was a 20long, it has an angel, gourami, and a Pictus cat. Had it a year and half till I joined the military.
Next was a 40b African cichlid tank. Had it for a year while in the Army. Sold it when I went to Germany for two years.
Next was a 55gal with 3 Oscar's I had for 1.5 years till a heater malfunction took out the tank.
And now I have a 55, and two 125s.

My first tank was nearly 2 years ago. My wife and I bought a friend a little 15 gallon tank for Christmas, but they changed their mind about keeping fish - so I set up the tank in our house. The local pet shop advised us to get clown loaches, denison barbs and dwarf gouramis as suitable for a 15 gallon :(

There were a lot of fish deaths in those early months. I still have the little tank in our living room, very stable now with 3 schools of tetras (neons, pristellas & rummy noses).

Things escalated after that, and within 6 months I bought a used 115 gallon bow front complete with a strange mix of malawis, severs, red jewels and a black shark catfish. Today I have it set up as a Malawi tank with mbuna and synodontis. It also sits in our living room, beside my recliner. I spend much less time watching TV now, and more time watching fish.

That fed the addiction, and last month I picked up an old 200 gallon tank, cleaned it up, planted it with live plants, and set it up in the hallway outside our bedroom with 3 blood parrots, a school of giant danios and a school of congo tetras.

That's probably it now, as I don't think I can get any more tanks without getting a divorce first.

Yep but those stands aren't bad for sub 100 gallon tanks.Their main drawback seems to be warpage if they get wet too much.I still have that combo and the floor inside of it is sunken in a little.
I have dabbled a bit in building,I made a two tier stand for my 75 gallon tanks.
Ugh. I have one of those stands holding up my 70 bow right now and my fluval 405 had a leak and I lost 5g of water over a weekend away. Now I need to replace about 4 boards on it. I have a carpenter friend who says the integrity is still there but it’s so swollen I can’t even close the one cabinet door.. lol

Yep,I've seen plenty of them in that condition where the door won't shut properly.

Great thread fishhead0103666 fishhead0103666 , I didn’t realize you and Bertie07 Bertie07 were so young lol.

My first tank was roughly about 18-20 years ago (starting to feel old now). It was a 20 g that a family friend gave to me with some odds and ends to get started. At first I wasn’t allowed to even get fish so I started with a Fw crab. Then the crab needed a friend so we bought 3 neon tetras because my mom thought they looked cool. I originally wanted fish so I could have piranhas but the lfs people said not to start with them but to work my way up from easier to care for fish like community. So I bought a 10 g with swordtails, mollies, red tail shark and some dwarf frogs. After a few weeks I had 3 tanks and 1 had a red bellied piranha because lfs said 20g min for each rb. As I got bored with the fish I had I slowly started to see which of the fish I could feed to the p, including the frog.

Eventually I came home one day from school and found that the original 20 g had cracked and leaked out all but about a cm of water in my room (upstairs). At the time I collected marvel masterpiece cards and had a huge collection of the foils so it was over $1000 worth of cards that were in the dresser the fish tank was on. I was pretty devastated and stopped collecting the cards but kept going with fish but I learned a very important lesson to ensure your tank is completely level to avoid cracks and strains. I think there was a solo crayfish in that tank at the time and it survived in a small puddle in the gravel.

I never made my age very public. I dropped a clue here and there but never said directly what it was. Did say I was a minor a few times. I did this because I wanted people to see me for my knowledge and not my age. Once people find out you're young people tend to view what they say in a "he probably has no idea what he's talking about" view.
Since I've successfully had at least one person not be able to tell my age through my posts, you, I will make my age public. I am 17 lol. Also yes, I do talk a lot. It's rather easy when they're so many good people here and so many questions and discussions to talk about :D.
