i feed mealworm... every other day

good idea to introduce pellets .. mealworms are not very high in protein and vitamins etc that a growing arow needs..they actually should be fed as a treat..oh i forgot to tell what i feed..I feed my guy Azoo arrow pellets, frozen silversides and frozen shrimp and frozen krill.. and i do not powerfeed him... i give him what he needs to be in good form .. feeding too much protein i think actually caused my other arow to feel jumpy and nervous ...i even packed his food with vitamins etc.. just feeding arow normal portions of pelleted food and the other things as an occasional meal has worked for me.. most of the time he is calm and content.. you really should not rush arow growth.. let them develope normally at the normal speed is a better approach to a healthy arow..

kramer, i've been using cichlid gold as a staple for 12 years now. where does it say anywhere on the package its specifically a color enhancement when its packed with awesomeness according to the back of the package.

oh, i actually alternate between cichlid staple and cichlid gold. but i jus started using staple like a month ago but my fish love that stuff too

Yeah, Cichlid Gold is more of a staple, actually..

actually any pelleted food is better because of the added vitamins and minerals and disease free.. {at least we hope so} they are all staples.. unless other wise stated..even the color enhance ones.. that is just added to the cichlid pellet in addition to the other healthy ingredients.

shrimp.. and frozen blood worms ftw.. and eh.. throw in some beefhearts or 1! Feeder here and there is okay

I worked at a LFS and a guy would come in every week too buy 12 betta fish too feed his aro [= I guess they're healthier then feeder gold fish.

not always but i quess there is less risk..what a waste though.

my fish are to big for bloodworms lol

and people prolly use betas because of the less risk of disease. goldfish get mistreated in the line of making it to a fish store. always over crowded, almost never fed, they get sick off each other then fed to our fish as food.
