good idea to introduce pellets .. mealworms are not very high in protein and vitamins etc that a growing arow needs..they actually should be fed as a treat..oh i forgot to tell what i feed..I feed my guy Azoo arrow pellets, frozen silversides and frozen shrimp and frozen krill.. and i do not powerfeed him... i give him what he needs to be in good form .. feeding too much protein i think actually caused my other arow to feel jumpy and nervous ...i even packed his food with vitamins etc.. just feeding arow normal portions of pelleted food and the other things as an occasional meal has worked for me.. most of the time he is calm and content.. you really should not rush arow growth.. let them develope normally at the normal speed is a better approach to a healthy arow..

Sounds like you did okay..some can never be converted.. especially if not started young..and it is so hard to watch them go through starvation...

ok , my aros staple food are beefheart, chiken liver, prawms whit shells, cutlefish , shark fillets ,sera arowana pellets, clams, mussels, frogs ,crikets ,heartworms and a goldfish or 2 as treat during a week. my goldfish have a tank whit filter and lots of water plants and are feed bloodworms ,krill and pellets

when you start feeding an arow live food after feeding him all the good healthy stuff ..you take a chance that the arow will not eat that healthy food again or at least refuse it until he is really starved.. they can go off food for a long time ..sometimes 5 weeks or more.. he won't be growing and feeling too healthy during that time... anyone who has their arow eating right should not tease them with live food anymore... they are better off without it .. because most likely you will have an arow that refuses to eat all the great foods that you mentioned above.. and it will drive you nuts trying to get him back on it.....

SO what your saying is i shouldn't get mealworm and cricket sort of thing for it? I just want to see him be the monster he is plus i would like a different type of food for him/she each day of the week. So keep away from mealworm and stuff? I am not going to feed it live form food such as other fishes. Just heard mealworm as a treat should be good. Thanks for the advice i guess i'll just keep what i am up too. My jar even take flake food lol. He an eater for ya =).

you may be very lucky with your arow and never experience a problem..but what i am saying is when you feed crickets or meal worms most arows do not want the other food anymore.. and will shut down until they get the food they want..and you will have to have crickets and meal worms all the time or starve him to get him back on pellets etc.. it sounds like your arow is doing very well.. in my opinion things could change.. feeding meal worms and crickets even as treats ...arows are very moody.. i only use meal worms and crickets when i really need to get my arow eating again..because even arows who eat all the non live can suddenly just stop eating.. sometimes arows fast themselves.. and we end up pulling our hair out until we get them normal again..best of luck with your guy..although i do not think jars are as bad as silvers..with this.

Every three days is okay for mature arows.. in fact it is probably very good for digestion and appetite..but baby arows need to eat small amounts a couple of times a day.. they are growing fast at this stage..once arows have reserve fat then it may actually be ,more beneficial to skip a day or two..as long as it is consistent and a schedule is maintained. I am not trying to tell anyone how to feed their arow..just letting you know that they're are some experiences that you should be aware of and try to avoid ..it is hell worrying about an arow that refuses to eat,and just eating meal worms and crickets is not a healthy diet..
