edit: i stand slightly corrected as my research has showed me labratory produced channnel/flathead hybrids. these had no pictures to confirm your catch but i still believe it to be a purebred channel catfish

It is hard to see the diff in the color and the pattern but it looks nothing like a reg channel cats pattern

mine was a 40lbs jack crevalle i got of the beach on a spoon or a 25lbs snook or a 80lbs jewfish or a 40lbs cobia or a 200lbs shark or the day i caught 200 bluefish of the beach on a spoon

there is no difference, these fish are of the same species. There can always be variances in color or patterns but that doesn't mean they're a hybrid. i know im 100% right on this, you can believe or not. Email a picture to your state's DNR and prove me wrong.

I will cold hardily agree to disagree with you. I know you are 100% wrong on this but that is cool with me, lets get back to the OP thread

pretty sure they're both just channel cats, i've caught ones that looked like both of these in different parts of the state.
