Your biggest mistake

In the mid 80's we lived in Saudi arabia, brother had a 20 gallon and we did a complete tear down on the tank and cleaned it. You can't drink out of the tap there. (Heavy in Minerals) So we used the 5 gallon drinking water jugs that they send daily, Due to the heavy amount of clorine in the water the fish all died. :(

I would have to say trusting the floor in a mobile home to hold a 125 gallon. Floor joist shifted causing tank to lean back toward wall enough to drop 1/4 of its water out the back. By some act of god the tank didnt crack or blow a seal. Now I have the floor so reinforced I could park a semi on it. and have stacked 125s in the same spot.
My second biggest mistake was doing a water change while watching a Vikings game and drinking. once the tank was refilled I dosed with prime, shut off the water, disconnected python from the sink, dropped end on floor and ran to neighbors house to finish watching game and drink more. When I returned home drunk as hell I found that the python had back syphoned nearly all 125 gallons onto kitchen floor. What a nightmare.
Third biggest mistake was buying my first african cichlid as it has turned me into a addict with 25 tanks most bigger than 40 gallons. :headbang2

the biggest mistake that i do was leave my oscar's 1 weekend alone... the result... my house was without electric energy.... that's terrific... almost they die!!!!

el mayor error que hize fue dejar a mis oscars 1 fin de semana solos, el resultado... mi casa estaba sin energia electrica... eso fue terrible.. ellos casi mueren!!!!

Mine would be putting smaller predators and them being prey with bigger predators in the same tank. Back then I had a 30+" RTC with a 22" Silver Aro and the RTC tried to eat the Aro and killed it. Present I had my 13" Pbass ate one of my 4" convict, 4" Jewel cichlid, and almost ate my 5" GT. Also I had 3" Pbass's housed with a 5" RTC/TSN and 2 of the Pbass's fell victim to the RTC/TSN...

Hooked the sponge filter up to my 55g wrong. Well during a 12 hour course, water was back siphoned through the air pump because the pump was too low from the tank so it siphoned the water. Needless to say i spent my sunday DAY soaking up water with shamwows and moving a fan around all day.

My biggest mistake was with my first marine tank, Probably a year into the tank and I saw a very large 6" sea-cucumber, took a picture of it and asked a lfs what it was, they said it was normal and probably just grew out of the life rock. so I left it in there, two days later my cuban hogfish tore it to pieces, and within hours every fish in the tank was dead, poisoned by the toxins in the sea-cucumber. If I went with my gut and scooped him out all would have been fine. I swore off of saltwater aquaria for a few years after that.
