I was taking care of my Sister and Brother in laws Pond...I redug them a new one and it was stocked with their 5 yr old Goldies and a couple of Koi....

Before I started doing maintenance, a waterchange was never done. Just top offs from evaporation.

Well I got them into waterchanges, about 10% weekly...

Well as luck would have it, He stuck the hose in the pond at 2 PM on Thursday, cranked it to full on, and spaced it out till 6AM Friday...

needless to say he Chlorine'd all the BB in the filter and all the stock either had to swim to death, or drowned....wiped out the entire pond...

Just to be evil, I call him drought, or fishgod...something catchy, LOL

My sis was soooo bummed, but she lets him down easy...

well, when i first had a 45 gallon tank i had a oscar and jack dempsy, both loved feeder fish, i went to a lfs asked for 25 gold fish for three dollars, the guy goes gets them, and i look he gave me fifty instead, so i took it as a bargin and headed home. i was thinking what to do with all these fish, i didn't want to waste them, and i had no where else to keep them alive. so i did the most dumb thing ever, put them all in!, all you could see is two monsters going to town and flashes of gold being torn apart, i thought,i guess this isn't to bad. well two days go by and they ate all of them. my fish where super fat and not moving to much, i thought they were full. so i was running later that day back to the lfs and decided to take in my water for sampling, you guessed it, was completely toxic, i ended up doing a 50 percent water change and it was to late the dempsy did't make it. but the damn oscar pulled right through and still lives today, i lke to call it the unkillable fish after living through that.leasons learned

A few yrs back I put some water clear stuff in my crayfish tanks.....Killed my 4 largest Blue Marron. Contained Aluminium & Copper Sulphate. I should have read the instructions better.......

*** Remove Inverts before adding *** :wall:

Not checking salt levels.

For some reason i didn't think about the salt staying in the tank after the water evaporated... so i just kept adding saltwater after saltwater.

I had to remove and add 3 gallons of freshwater to my saltwater tank to get it back to safe levels... the tank is only 12 gallons...
The hydrometer was still off the chart after two gallons of freshwater were added!! :WHOA:
Solved the snail death problem though lol.

I felt horrible for allowing that... :(

Not having the right, snug fitting top for my 40 breeder, laying on the couch in front of the tank and trying to figure out why i cant see a 10inch albino oscar :nilly:. He jumped:eek:. When i finally figured out whay and where he was i grabed him and dropped him back in. Im not sure how long he was out but he laid on the bottom of the tank for a good 2 days:(. But he made it and i had him for a good year after that. :headbang2

Plugging in filters.
My eheim is so quite, you cannot hear it even if you are right up to it.

15" Pleco's get a bit mad if you try to move them.
