I agree with that 100% im not a big fan of African cichlids, id much rather utilize the tank space with a few large fish that are more of a centerpiece

Ya I had one in the 90s that lives for 7 years in the little container it came in, when that was considered correct
I’d go with smaller haps and less aggressive peacocks then. Placidochromis and lethrinops are generally more peaceful
If you like the venustus, you could try keeping it, but if it’s male it can get 10”+ and become very aggressive, so just be prepared
Yeah it's only a couple inches right now, I'll enjoy it and grow it out and see what happens, maybe it'll stay peaceful or be female. But I'll keep an eye on it.
That’s what I would do, keep in mind if it is female, that can cause aggression too lol rifties are awesome, but they’re like walking a tightrope
There are many mbuna that get 6-8” but I definitely would not mix those with haps or peacocks lol
Yeah I have a huge yellow lab Mbuna. He's like 7 inches and super bulky so I named him Yarnold (Yellow + Arnold Shwarznegar)
