Your least favorite fish

Well Glowfish because they are tacky, and the idea of a COPYRIGHTED FISH is so so shameful to me. They also take up 1/4th of many fish stores fish section which drives me wild.

Man-made horrors aside I really do not like bala sharks. A huge plain fish that somehow makes its way into so many tanks.

I have seen some beautiful sailfin mollies, but the smaller species are so bad. They swim like cardboard cut-outs, and they stick to the surface if a person is nearby biting at the surface waiting for food but it just looks like they are gasping for air. Stresses me out watching them.

Every purposely made hybrid and all known genetic mutation color morphs. With a wild passion I despise albino/ xanthic/ platinum/ lutino etc and don't understand the hype and price.

Also do not understand the hype with polypterus.
Why keep a carpet of phallic looking fish that don't move? :screwy:

I'll begin, I absolutely despise:
The entire gambusia genus
Gulper catfish
Cetopsis coecutiens
Smooth pufferfish
Leporinus fasciatus

I additionally do not like (not to the same degree as the previous):
Festivums
Mikrogeophagus ramirezi
Frontosa
All tropheus except duboisi and the red spotted ones

I am open to elaborate on any of these upon request
Why is Frontosa on your list? Or perhaps that was an oversight on your part? I'm pretty sure that must have been an oversight. Yeah.

I don't like the concept of keeping them, you need a group for them to be happy, they get huge so you need a huge tank, and you can pretty much just keep them in the tank. I don't like the concept of a species only tank with a bunch of giant blue things that just sit there and occasionally kill eachother.

Lol well I can't argue with any of that. Truth is that they are just one of the few fish I dislike the least 🤫. And I suppose they are the right level of challenge to keep that I'm looking for at this time. Thanks for the post.

I've never understood the addiction that some folks have with arowanas and rays. They do absolutely nothing for me whatsoever and I can safely say that I will never keep them.
I'd have to agree with this one. I considered the prospect recently of getting either one or both of these. I tried to like them but I just can't bring myself to.

Discus! I have tried for years. Spent 1000 of dollars. Never again!
I never changed so much water in my life; I did 80% daily water changes during the ~18 months I got serious with keeping them. Beautiful fish but that's the only positive that I can say.

I saw a peacock bite both of the barbells off an arowana was kinda mad at it not hating the whole species though

Anything that doesn't occur naturally is among my least favorite. Flowerhorn, whatever that orange abomination is w/ the unfortunately deformed mouth, etc. None of them are bettering the species and none are for me.

I don't mind breeding for color as has been done w/ Endlers and others for decades but that's just because it's my brand of hypocrisy.
