Your opinions on fish that can go with a catfish

It is very rare for any bullhead to exceed a foot, and usually less in captivity.

But yes, catch one in the spring.
:bs: I knew few people that grew them to 14" in captivity and your telling me that they get smaller in captivity or too rare for a bullhead to not exceed a foot. I worked in fisheries and I can tell you that we caught lot of big bullheads in fish traps and gillnets... all easily exceed 13" and largest one we captured is 20".

Show me a 20 incher and I'll be a believer. Or even a confirmed 15 incher, please.

I'll show you a picture we caught 4 of them one night 20 inches at least. Let me find it.

Looks like you do need a tank that is bigger than a 75 to house a fully grown bullhead.

Worked in Fisheries and I can tell you that it is not uncommon for a bullhead to reach over 10" and 15 inchers are not that rare. The people who kept them before can tell you that a 75 isn't suitable to house a bullhead. Even a 10" bullhead, they are very chunky and produced more wastes.

biggest bullhead I've seen in captivity was 15" and it was caught at that size when added to the tank. but then again i don't really try hard enough to look for big bullheads in aquaria. IMO a bullhead or two would be fine in a 75.
I disagreed on that one. A 75gal isn't suitable for bullheads beside the smaller species of bullhead (snail, spotted and flat bullehads)
