Well I can't upgrade for a minimum of one and a half years and I get to attached to my fish to sell them unless extremely necessary and in those cases I just don't buy the fish.

I'd leave it out then
My favorite catfish are as follows
1. 4 line Pim
2.Pictus Pim
3. Glass cats
4.Bristle nose plecos
5. Tiger shovelnose catfish

Well straying away from the channel cat discussion and getting back to the top 5 catfish, once I get about 50 or so top 5's from people I am going to tally it up at the end and see what the top 5 in general are. So keep so responses coming people!

Can't wait until I get my four line in my 75 in a month or so.

Beautiful fish, hope it doesn't hide all day like my Raphael.

They will. I had one for about 4 months, and all it did was hide all day. It would come out to eat when there was food near its hiding area, but then it would return to hiding as soon as all the food was gone. Very skittish and always swimming very fast to get away from the light and back to someplace dark lol.

Oh i never even posted my top 5 LOL! I have a list of about 20 cats (i am A catfish addict...) that i cant decide what ones are my top 5 so here are just 5 random ones that i really like:

RTCxTSN (hybrid catfish)
ID shark
Channel Catfish
Giraffe Catfish
Lima shovelnose

I hate to dissapoint you but even a 180 may be too small... And keep in mind that channel cats are COLDWATER! I almost forgot to mention that. They also like alot of current. I may end up digging a pond for mine...

yeah I probably won't get one but while they are coldwater, there are many North American natives that can tolerate high temperatures such as Lepomis sunfish and bullheads.
