Zimmerman not Guilty

That wasn't a personal slam. The evidence suggests that at the moment of the shooting Zimmerman had a reasonable fear of death or serious bodily injury and had no other means to prevent it. Everything before that is inconsequential to the verdict unless Zimmerman confronted Martin and threatened harm with his firearm but there's no evidence of that.

I'm sure people are holding back their 2 cents as its already obvious this one will be locked mid discussion too.

I think TM got what he deserved. The media convicted Zimmerman from the very beginning. The courts actually got it right this time. It's only about race because that's what the media wants it to be about.

dont forget how OJ got away with it.

All i see is an increasing descent into barbarism, cause by people's panic of everything. It will only get worse.

A young lad ( for me a child ) was shot to death by an armed vigilante who was following him and got a deserved beating.

Such vigilante not beinh man enough resorted to a gun he was allowed to carry on himself and cowardly shot the kid.

As some guy said, it may be that the prosecution failed its job, or in any case that the system worked, but not justice in my opinion.

If it was my boy, this vigilante would be a goner, speaking of barbarism.

Vigilante there was no vigilantism here. Its wrong information like this that gets thrown out there that fuses the public. So in your mind Security guards are nothing but Vigilantes looking to start trouble for no reasons.

You speak of barbarism as a negative but call it a deserved beating and you speak negatively of Zimmerman as a vigilante but are apparently in favor of vigilantism if it is delivered to someone you think deserves it.

MY ONE POINT , ALMOST ALWAYS ignored what if tm had a gun then chased z down and shot him...do you really think "stand your ground "would have been applied .....? my guess is it would have been called a "gang related" crime,,,, and there seems to be a lot of veiled racism all across America these days, NOT JUST IN THIS THREAD... some of it very thinly veiled(see tea party and anti immigrant activists)

Yes if it have been completely the other way around. Treyvon having all the cuts and bruises and Zimmerman with the single gun shot to the chest. Yes it would of been the same outcome. Treyvon would of been acquitted on self defense.
