    Feeding a tiny gymnothorax polyuranodon

Yes. Far more concise than how I tried to explain it.

    Feeding a tiny gymnothorax polyuranodon

The water changes basically consist of taking the water directly from the filter output of the under stocked pond where the tank sits in. Parametric wise, the water in both the eel tank and the pond should be of the same values. It's not water coming from the tap with different parameters, and...

    Feeding a tiny gymnothorax polyuranodon

It's been about 2 weeks. Last night I left a defrosted cube of hikari mysis shrimp and he did not appear to take any. I think more attempts and more information is in order. The eel is in a 1.5 ft tank placed with a metre square fish pond with the same water. Water quality is maintained by...

    About a week, thereabouts.

    Feeding a tiny gymnothorax polyuranodon

I've gotten myself a 12 inch eel as mentioned in the title. He is about the width of a pencil. However, I haven't been able to feed him successfully. I've tried chopped seafood, tubifex, thawed out mysis and have attempt tong feeding or leaving it around. Does anyone have any experience in...

    Help with overflow

I built an overflow in accordance with this video. I am attempting to connect a 120x45x50 cm (L x B x H) tank to a 100x100x30 cm (L x B x H) pond. The system is connected as follows. Water is sucked up by an Eheim 2026 (Flow rate: 172 GPH) from the pond and into the tank. The water from...

Alright I guess I'll go ahead and pop one into my current set-up before upgrading again in the future.

    Polyuranadon Thread

@fathomer Any remarks regarding my rather dubious tank size selection? Do the eels thicken up and how much activity do you see? I understand that many saltwater eels meander about live rock and therefore to some extent, require less space. But how about gymnothorax polyuranodon?

Alright I'll keep that in mind. What do you feel about that tank size for at least 3 years for the polyuranodon? In the paper I've cited, they estimated the largest specimen at an apeshit 1.5m. However, the majority of specimens are between 50-90cm. I'm not sure what the typical sizes...

For those interested on the status of Gymnothorax Polyuranodon as a saltwater, freshwater or brackish fish, you can look up the paper titled "Is the Elusive Gymnothorax Polyuranodon really a freshwater moray?"...

    Stocking 60 Gallon

Ah crap. What must I do to the stocking list to include a gymnothorax polyuranodon into this? I just found one.

    Stocking 60 Gallon

What is a good number and species of "shoaling" (very loosely) fish that I can include? The intent is to provide some midwater or surface activity and colour when polypterus or the ropes are a bit more sedentary. I'm alright if the fish gets eaten assuming they don't all disappear over a short...

    Stocking 60 Gallon

Tank size: 120x40x50 Intended stocking plan: 1 Palmas sp. (Which has a more elaborate marking?) 1 Delhezi 1 Teugelsi 3 Ropefish Have I overdone it? I was also wondering if there might be space for some smaller shoaling fish like Rainbows.

    Bearded Dragon "Glass" Surfing?

Crushed walnut shell is completely out of the question. Trying to find dandelion greens is a pain in the ass..

What do you think of my set up?

Temperature of the tank should theoretically not suit the paddletail newt, also it's among the most aggressive caudata, though I am questioning how much harm it could possibly to do a bichir. Below 20 degrees celsius is ideal, my suggestion is to separate soon.

    Bearded Dragon "Glass" Surfing?

Okay I see. Perhaps it may not hurt to use some less nutritious vegetables once in a while as well. I'll give it a shot, romaine lettuce and the like, just to mainly avoid goitrogens and oxalates. @crayfishguy. Don't think heat is the issue with mine, at least not surface temperature though...

    Channa Bleheri tank set-up?

Yes that does help a lot. What I may do is go for the look of leaf litter and driftwood with floating cover.
