Very skittish from the ride home. I will say, they look like isletas or hoga fry. They are pretty small. The biggest one is 1.75" and the rest are around 1.25".

Once they get more comfortable, I'll hope to get some pictures.

Thanks for the pics, it will be interesting to see what they look like as they mature.

I'm still not sure why "red devil" was used in the name, I see on another forum where they were listed as Amphilophus Labiatus 'Laguna Yaxha' http://www.capitalcichlids.org/forums/showthread.php?t=21035

As if there weren't enough "red devil" hybrids in circulation. I won't point any fingers as I'm not exactly sure where these names originated, but it's pretty careless IMO. Amphilophus sp. "Laguna Yaxha" would have sufficed, without adding any additional confusion to the term red devil.

Yes, someone please do, because as far as I know Amphilophus labiatus is endemic only to the great lakes, Lake Managua and Lake Nicaragua.

The fish we had at Aquamania 2 earlier this year (from RD's post) were personally donated by Rusty Wessel. I'd try sending Rusty an email to get more info on them.
For the OP, more pics of your fish, and a few non believers like myself. :)

Personally I don't care who collected the fish, I'm calling BS until someone can explain to me how these fish magically became Amphilophus labiatus.

Does anyone have his email address? I will gladly give him a jingle. I will get more pictures as they get more comfortable and come out of hiding ;-)
