I would use an ES2500- it's 2500 gph, and you can turn it down. I use this on my 1500 gallon koi tank.
You're electric bill will go through the roof with a pool pump.
Koi tank pumps and pool pumps work differently when it comes to electricity usage.
You need to buy a pump made for a pond, plus it will be cheaper.
