Bad news. Somehow both pumps stopped working last night. They both turn on and beep like they want to work but dont pump water. I took both of them apart and cleaned them but no go. I'm going to call the company tomorrow and see if there is anything I can do to fix them if not I will order 2 haywood pool pumps rated at 130-150gpm to give me much better flow. This kinda sucks :/

I would use an ES2500- it's 2500 gph, and you can turn it down. I use this on my 1500 gallon koi tank.

You're electric bill will go through the roof with a pool pump.

Koi tank pumps and pool pumps work differently when it comes to electricity usage.

You need to buy a pump made for a pond, plus it will be cheaper.

This is where I bought mine: http://www.highdesertkoi.com/

Thanks for the link. I'm looking for a lil more flow than that but I do like the 5500gph one on there. That's about the lowest flow I would go though.

They have a ton of different pumps on there. You are bought to find one with the flow you find ideal.

Give them a call. The guy is super nice.

Update: ended up buying a evolution series pump capable of 8800gph. Got it installed and everything works great! Very happy with the flow. Ordered 60 bags of scrubbies that's 480 scrubber pads...and after some odd looks at the store got them home and got them in the wet dry tonight. It's almost full. That's about 180gals worth of just scrubbies :). Luckily there is no such thing as overkill on mfk

just a recent member just ventured outside of the catfish page, and just spent an hr looking over all 20 pages and reading every message, must say you did an awsome job not just with the time but in the final project its not just a hug wodden tank you actually gave it a design and its very inspiring, great stuff here..

Just wanted to say hi from Nebraska. Am thinking about doing a pond in my basement, but right now it's just a pool idea and am trying to figure out heating. My basement is 1000 sq ft and stays cool in the winter ... So unsure what to do.

Anyway, PM me if you'd like ^_^

hey everyone. I am in africa providing health care for them. Internet is hard to get so I appligize for the late response. I also cant do a pic update till about july sense Ill be here. sorry. As for the heating question depending on gallonage I would heat the room as its much cheaper than heating 700gal of water with a heater. that can cost hundreds a month just to heat 10-15 degreees

ok got in a large carbon cylinder to keep the water crystal clear. Its one of the 4foot tall cylinders ppl run inline on their house water. I dont have a camera at the moment. got broken in africa. but i will takes new pics as soon as its up. got to pick up a 500gph pump for it. other than that the fish are all growing fast and loving their new home......but now the mfk in me is wanting to expand it to 12x12x4......can never get enough
