Absolutly awesome Balton.. just awesome.. It was cool of you to take the time to put this thread together! I've said it many times but this pair of yours is my top two favorite festae on the planet.

Thanks a lot Justin. Unfortunately they're not big into breeding. They've bred four times that I can remember in two and a half years. Every time the eggs got eaten. It's ok with me though, I don't need them to breed to be happy with them.
He seems more gold and red than im used to seeing on males he looks so awesome do they still spawn? My male has alot more green on him and his bars are visible faintly makes me wonder if he's showing off to the female. Have you noticed what moods and behaviors relate to the showing and disappearing of the bars on these fish? Im trying to 'read the bars' to determine my fishes feelings. My male is pushing 12" and female is around 7"
Great job with both of them. That male was an easy choice of the two, lol. The female has more red than any other female I've seen. Oh, that Dovii was huge... I'm not sure even I would have tried that one, lol. Thanks for posting, I really enjoyed this thread... keep uo the good work.
