If you look at my post below the gang you will see i have a red texas pic 15-16 he is a lil over one inch and has more pearls than any of those fish in your post he also has a red tint already. None of my other fish come from petsmart went in to get a divider and saw him had to get it, you can also see on that post i have a fading red texas and he wasnt cheap. The little petsmart rt looks better than mine and yours already. They also had 5 or 6 others that were showing red already but none of the others has anywhere near as many pearls as the guy i grabbed.

Thats a load of crap and has absolutely no basis. And as I said before thats not always the case, for example if your local store orders their from Segrest Farms (which is one of the more popular wholesales) then you are getting the exact same fish Petsmart is getting. Another thing is that Petsmart hasn't been selling them long of for a statement like that to mean anything, sure you get a few cases where there are sick fish but that can easily be said about any store.

SharptoothBass your fish looks good hope it developes into something nice. Not saying they are bad fish but you lucked out. That first kamfa somebody on here got from petsmart is crazy.
Seems like a lot of people are going to have tankmate compatibility issues with their new flowerhorns they picked up at a wherever. Even people on mfk apparently. It kind of is like petco smart selling pacu isn't it?

The different between Petsmart's hybrid is, they are not selected. The Segrest Farms just dumps fishes to Petsmart, that is why most of them are mis-labeled. You can find dark color, ich fishes, and unprofessinal fish keepers more than likely at Petsmart, that ends up unhealthy fishes. If you think my opinions are loads of crap, I am sorry, and will leave MFK without your low class yelling, since it makes no sense, and waste time to deal with your unprofessional crap attitude, Christ.

On that I agree with you. Although at a certain point the buyer should take responsibility on researching what you are buy.

Get a quality fry out of 100 batch is a gramble as well..no different from a fry from Petsmart. Gonna grow out them first before make a statement like the guy above me....

I have had both good and bad experiences with Petsmart and Petco both... here in Spokane a guy named Miles works for Petsmart and he knows A LOT about fish and raises stingrays and breeds them. He can tell you first hand what they do for water quality and what not... Real good guy who knows his stuff! I just don't know why they sell things like panagasius cats... That said I enjoy the fact that they provide people with less income to be able to buy fish and enjoy them just the same as someone who can afford to buy and have fish shipped to them. Why argue with someone over where they buy their fish from?
