Most overrated bands?

LOL half of the bands you just mentioned are absolute ****.
system of a down WERE good, but have been absent from the industry for a while now. same thing with the offspring. as Music stands right now there is not one single good American band I can think of except for new journey which would be considered an American/Philippines band

Didn't realize journey was still putting out music and have absolutely no idea how anyone can consider them better than social distortion, marah, or Tom waits. All of which have released albums in the last year. Who are all these revolutionary non-American bands of which you speak?

Your music taste is terrible, like I said because you grew up in America you missed out on all the half decent bands. and I know what the thread is about, American mainstream metal is all overrated. the only good American Metal band was Kamelot and thats because they had a Norwegian singer. now that Roy Khan has left I'm sure the all american cast will **** up the band.

some good bands that Americans probably arent exposed to that much?

the list goes on and on, Europe has the best metal in the world. Americans can't do a whole lot right, but modern metal is definately the Vietnam of their music industry


before anyone questions about my location being Canada, I moved here from Europe 6 months ago thats how I know of these decent metal bands.

How am I trolling? I'm giving my opinion, and how can you say all those bands suck? you haven't even heard them. Balkandji is an obscure bulgarian metal band.
the difference between me and you is that I actually do know the bands you posted, so I can give a relevant opinion, as is the point of this thread, you are the one who knows nothing about my list that you asked for and decided to comment on it blindly, if anyone here is the troll its you.

Looked into a few of those bands and all I hear is front 242 and iron maiden, not that anything is wrong with either but it not writing music history

Id also would like to nominate tupac and biggie. Thier.music was ok, but they are such legends purely because they were killed. Over rated imo

Nice try. Journey, drowning pool(original singer, RIP), slip knot, theory of a dead man, 5 finger death punch, flogging molly, aaron lewis(and staind obviously) everlast, sublime, jimmy buffet, hollywood undead, korn, shinedown, the offspring, system of a down and many MANY others including some I dont like but admit highly talented. American music is FAR from all bad. Saying all american is bad is a grossly ignorant statement.

I listen to mostly grunge and punk (real punk, like Sonic Youth and Bad Religion and Social Distortion) and other early alternative rock from the 90's... obviously not Leppy's thing, but to say that America doesnt make good music isnt fair, and it's extremely inaccurate. I'm not sure why I am arguing with someone who likes hair metal though... Europe... jeez...

Oh, I hope I dont get hit with shovels for this, but I absolutely cannot listen to Bob Marley. Some of my friends are into it... I just dont get it. Redemption Song is one of my least favorite things I have ever heard. My friend made me listen to it on the way to a herp expo and I almost jumped out of the car on the turnpike.
