Alligator gar growth progression thread

My 13" Florida gar is pretty laz. He doesn't bother the 1" convict I put in the tank but if I put in a 1-2" minnow/baitfish he goes nuts. He loves pellets and pieces of shrimp.

Hahaha I know the feeling. Seems to grow in spurts. And it's wild how unpredictable they are. Mine goes after my peacock bass every once in a while but never touches the clawed frogs that float at the top of the tank from time to time

It's been 16 days since the last measurement and the bigger one has put on alittle more then 2inches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I been doin 2 Wc a week and they are on frozen. Next week they will be moving from their 29gl to a 75gl. Thought my giant snake heads were bullets at growing but these guys are way faster.

I also did this. Got mine at about 4-5 inches. 1 week he was 7-8 inches. 1 month over the 12 inch mark, two months 19 inches and still growing out of control lol.

What are the best tank mates for alligator gars? Found one for sale that is just gorgeous!
