horribly inbred just like half the so called Midas midevils or red whatever and other in the cichlids in the trade. stoppa.jpgYour opinion is just that yours and not the facts. Many jacks regular ebjd and blue gene get a bad rap .. many have seen junk but many have seen show stoppers ! you cant rack up the sum or the many to your experience ? I supposed the fins are terrible right on my guy

Thats because they ARE horribly inbred fish. Thats why they look messed up as adults.

Lol you cant deny the fact that EBJD are very inbred. Any special morph of a fish is gonna be inbred a lot, its called line breeding. Usually they are weaker fish because it, thats why EBJD are considerably more fragile than the normal strain. Inbreeding isnt a bad thing if its done correctly but usually with specialty morphs its not.

Not all EBJD turn out crappy but a lot do.

The above is a strange dempsey. I like the atypical worming of his pearls. Is this a female?

exactly I never did state that ...but hey different strokes for different folks Midas and alot of red devils are the same inbred but

people give them a bad rap ..some are crap but regular jacks dont look any worse then some midas with crooked mouths and red devil midevil what ever..etc

as well as an assortment of cichlids. i see beak faces on festea devils and abnormal bodys

Only ever seen one out right deformed Midevil, it had a deformed spine making kinda shortbody. My F1 Citrinellus certainly aren't deformed. The two most deformed cichlids I usually see are Oscar and Jack Dempseys.

i love jacks because for me and many mnay others jack dempseys are a catalyst fish for expansion into the hobby. jack dempseys are basically the fish that got me so excited for the hobby. have since moved on from them to bigger and rarer fish but they can be very beautiful although so many are mistreated and disrescpected by novice uncaring keepers which i believe adds to the bad taste jacks tend to leave to most people is due to the majority of the large specimens we see at our lfs are deformed and stunted returns or dropoffs from being in very poor conditions by idiots keeping them in a 30 gallon that never had a water change. even if most people over time have strayed away from keeping dempsies the allure to keep them early on in our fishkeeper years is very evident in the numbers of people that keep and have kept jacks over the years. i just wish there were stronger bloodlines out there being passed around as most are extremely inbred but they still do and always will sell like hocakes on a crisp summers morning in june in alabama(best time and place for selling hotcakes:)). not a fish i keep but argueably a very important fish to this wonderful hobby of ours:)
