Have you been bitten by your fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My pacu decided to taste my finger when I was waggling my fingers in front of him. Fortunately, he bit the side of my finger and not the tip of the finger. It left a large crescent shaped cut that bled profusely. It was documented in my medical records as I was undergoing chemotherapy at the time. I was put on antibiotics and given a stern lecture. Had to keep my hand out of the fish tank until my chemo sessions were finished. The way they polish off carrots, I could have lost part of my finger had my pacu bitten the finger tip.

^^HOLY _ _ _ _!^^
Basically, you could have gotten an infection and died. Pacu are very capable of removing anything softer than a maccadamia nut or brazilian nut as that is what they eat!

Yup. I don't trust him anymore. Not having hands, they use their mouths to feel, touch, taste, explore everything. Even when I pet them, I look to see where the other pacu is.

My two oscars pack hell of a punch and my fire eel has a sharp nip....baby rtc tries to eat the odd finger but generally pretty limp effort just hoping never to get tagged by my ray
