Not to derail but what does everypne think about sons of anarchy?

There's a sons of anarchy thread

Anyhow I'm on ep 4 of season 2. I can see why some say second season was a bit disappointing. It's still solid but the momentum has slowed.

Damn that Shane, he's slowly losing it. And I'm starting to realize I don't like Rick's wife. Just doesn't sit well with me. All the secrets. I understand she's not telling him everything because Rick needs a clear head but I don't know, don't like her much

No, if they get bit, they turn into a zombie. Hence why they cut of dude's leg in the newest episode.

The bite doesn't turn you, they're already carrying the virus anyway. You'll turn regardless of how you die. The reason the bite kills you is because it's a septic bite, a bite loaded with pathogens that causes a massive infection that will result in death.

So my question was, don't their open wounds coming in contact with infected blood/saliva encounter the same thing?

Yes they would, but in a world were every living person is already a vector for the reanimation pathogen, it would make no difference if its reintroduced through contact with tainted zombie fluids.

Herschel had to have his leg amputated because in this world of no modern medical care and no antibiotics, the septic bite of that walker would have caused him to break out with a severe septicemia which would be fatal in a very short period of time. It was essential to take the leg before the infection could spread and take hold in his system.

edit: On re-reading my post, I came across a little too stringent sounding. I'm not trying to sound like a dick, I just got done writing a paper for my biology class and was just still kinda in that mode. Sorry if that came out wrong. :/

Up to #10.

Rewatched the first season again. Jenner never said exactly what it was, be it viral, parasitic, microbial, or "wrath of god". Also I remember someone asking why Merle cut off his hand rather than the cuffs, Daryl suspected that the hacksaw blade was too dull.
