Think I figured out my plumbing issue.

Of course couldn't have been a bad joint in the plumbing...no it has to be a split bulkhead! Sad part is I don't kill them when tightening them up. Finger tight then a slight nudge with a pair of channel locks, and I mean slight. So after taking a swim and pulling out the return line in the overflow making a new one after tracking down the 1" adapter at 3 stores and 3 suburbs later it is all back together.

Will update the whole plumbing setup later tonight once it is fully running.

Man, that is brutal. Glad to see you got it fixed. Other than this setback, the tank and plumbing look awesome.

In case you ever have to replace another bulkhead, I would recommend looking into the Schedule 80 PVC bulkheads. They are a bit more expensive, but in my opinion they are well worth it; they are much stronger and they come with an O-ring that's twice as thick as the standard bulkheads so they hardly ever leak. The only potential issue is that they require a slightly larger hole than standard bulkhead fittings, so you would just need to make sure they fit.

In any case, awesome setup!

Aldiaz thanks for the heads up. I used sch40 on my other tank and this one also had them originally. I had thought about switching to the 80's but figured nah it'll be fine. Yup I figured wrong LOL. Next time when this gets moved when I move a temporary pond will get set up for the fish and I am switching them over.

Nice looking setup! I'll be keeping an eye on this thread
