Under stocked vs over stocked...

probably bcuz it has some plants, substrate, color contrast & more fish with streamlined body shape.
That's part of it, that it has decorations and such, but that's not the point I was going for. I was saying that we associate on some level a group of fish in a "school" with being happy and healthy regardless of the reason they are packed together i.e. because they have no choice in a tank..

Some ( most ) of those tanks really surpass the admissible. ( I admit that I was a bit forgotten ).
I still maintain that to keep a tank like that requires a ton of effort and maintenance skill at the disposal of rather few and qualified, keepers ( does any fish look unhealthy?).
But the examples shown ( albeit one of them I do not agree that it should be a part of this example ) are, in fact, examples of hoarding.
I will end, however, with 2 observations: (i) by maintaining that those skilled keepers , they were doing it for themselves, not for status; (ii) the tanks i mentioned and the old timers I mentioned in the other thread did not have so crowded tanks.
It was a period. s yopu youirself stated, there is no sense in bashing and decrying, but to see that there might be other ways to do it.

Love how people assume they have mass die offs n just replace them. Is there any proof were a keeper is replacing g fish on a daily? Weekly? Monthly? Basis

Depends on your financial status, don't buy /\/\0NSTER fish if you can't afford /\/\0NSTER tanks!
I'm one for understocking but in the past at times i had no choice!
A lot of people buy fish on impulse, and most lfs workers give inadequate info regarding tank size and compatiblity!
I have a 2.5" rhom in a 90 all by himself just because he's very active and I think its awesome, but then I have a 125 with 5 adult red belly Piranha which I consider just a tad overstocked when they get bigger.
I'd much rather see under stocked tanks with healthy and active fish with no aggression issues. That's just me.

No doubt that it would take a lot of effort to try and maintain a tank like those pictured...
But i personally at least cant see the appeal of cramming as many fish into a tank as possible...
