I'm 8 months in to having No Boat...

Stand up paddleboard. I used to fish on mine all the time. Such a blast !!!
 
Maybe make one out of wood, a tarp, and duct tape. You might be able to strap it to the to of your car or make the boat able to be disassembled.

I've gone fishing in it for up to 8 hours in a day and I can stand in it.

Look up on youtube jon boat to bass boat. Pretty much what im planning on doing. Score a cheap jon boat on craigslist and do it over like some of the ones on youtube. Should cost less than $1000 completed. Look for something with a trailer. Put a couple dollars aside each week if you can spare to and it will add up and do this if you dont have the money. Good luck though I feel you. Shore fishing is nothing compared to boat fishing.

ill sell you a 14ft sun dolphin square back canoe with a 2hp johnson

and you can find bassboats for fairly cheap .. i just bought a 17ft 1987 fisher marsh hawk 3v with a 50hp mercury and trailer for 1500$ ... and the boat is in pristine condition
