Who here has a Fish tank in their bedroom?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If your water is properly cared for, there should be no "bad smell". If your water stinks, there is a problem with it. So smell is the last thing I would worry about.

Not true. My current overstocked 400L tank has pretty much perfect water (Am 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate <30ppm, TDS <80) yet if I leave the room closed over night it's pretty stinky in the morning. I can only assume this is because of the sump, the tank is on an open steel stand and the filter wool is open to the air, and the smell is more noticeable as it gets closer to water change day. If I were having a tank in my bedroom it would have to be running canisters!

I have a 100 G fish tank in my room, with a lot of fish. And I power feed them too. It doesn't make my room smell. Just gotta keep the tank covered almost completely.
I used to have a 10 G on the bottom of my computer desk, and it made my room smell really bad, it's because it didn't have a cover.

Have a 50 gallon tank in my bedroom, no smell I've noticed as long as you keep up with maintenance. I did make sure I got a quiet filter though because a noisy one would have driven me crazy.

I don't have one in the bedroom, but my soon to be wife actually wanted a big tank in the bedroom (she's a keeper right :) ) so after the wedding i'm making a 200G tank :P I already made the stand and it's in the room. I have a tank in the livingroom and it doesn't smell and she hasn't complained about the smell even when she's helping me do a water change. The only thing i'm worried about is her changing her mind if she can't sleep from the sound. I'm going with canister filters but still worried about the pump and bubbles.

4 tanks in my bedroom

none in bedroom. I often do tank maintenance late at night. my husband already tolerates enough of my crap without messing up his sleep too.
plus I have all tanks in the same part of house, near the laundry hookups. it's easy dragging hoses around.

Have several tanks in our bedroom. But the wife is am addict like me. We have tanks everywhere.

I keep Wifus Beautyfullius sp Boss in my bedroom.

Impossible to keep anything else in there.

I have a 125g, 29g, 10g x4, 5g x2. Too bad the 210g would cave in the floor or that would be in there toohaha. One tank wouldn't hurt I would say.
