Is it possible a tank can fail to cycle?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
really though you don't have to bother with the whole trasporting media to and fro, just like I said get the bacteria into the water and just bring the water to your tanks, then the bacteria will stick to your filter and start reproducing, so wait a few days for fish as autotrophs take longer to breed

Yes - you'd be set. Or drop a mature sponge filter from another tank into your tank.

The water itself contains much less bacteria than media or substrate does...

Matt

So you reckon if I drop a basket of a friend's media into my canister, and wait a while it would fix me up?

4D3, what fish do you still have in the big tank? In post #10 you said "In the 6x2x2 i have 3 30cm+ americans in there and 6 20cm americans in there also." But in post #14 you said "I have removed 8-10 fish from the tank to reduce the stocking levels."

Please include species and what size they are?

wow I just don't know why but it looks like your stock is a full aggression set up. (could you snap a pic for us?) And much more most of your stock are heavy on bio-load, still looks like heavily stocked to me.

Yeah my tank is hardcore aggression, but I tell you something I have no aggression, no split fins.

I'll get a pic now.just built a cree led array.

So to sort my ammonia problem, another 2260 should fix the issue?

There appears to be bio media in the tank, what is that from?
