Planted Striolatus Piranha tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That's awesome you got him on NLS! The next 4-6 months will be fun he should get some nice evil blood red eyes and start to get some colour.i got mine at around 3"in 1 year he was around 8" and getting thick! Never would take pellets. Only market shrimp any kind of white fish and sometimes some live fish. The whole rhom ID is a hard thing. Some have "diamonds" what ever colour they want to call it some have jet black Rhoms some have white Rhoms. Just have to wait for him to mature to really be able to put your Fingure on iy

Its 100% not a rhom. Pretty sure JP and I are right on this ID. Just look at the pics on the OPEFE site and compare teeth shape, spotting, overall body shape. Looks to grow to about 6" max.

Not a species for sale very often. I'd pick one up if I ever came across one at a store.

Awesome find but what's your plan now? Your goal is to try to grow out a beast and that thing is 75 percent grown. New tank?

If jp is right, would explain your sloooooooooooowwwwww growth. Its max size is 6 inches! Lol, cute man

Yeah I'm stoked to have such a special guy! Glad I got him

I didn't look at all of the pictures first go around, but the pros are right on this one not a rhom! Still a very nice piranha!

Well if I ever reseal my 90gal I may consider it but he loves the plants and tank so I will likely buy a Rhom and put him in the 90gal. I have so many animals right now I'm content with what I got!

I gotta agree with P. Striolatus. Awesome pick up F1! Ya don't see them in the hobby much.

Thanks Mike! I'm proud to call him mine and Im glad he turned out to be unique but I really wanted red eyes :/
