I'm viewing this thread, I live in Singapore, but i don't own Phirana (my profile pic is from the ones at River Safari).. It doesn't mean that I can't view threads on a public forum right?? Just my thoughts...

Sounds like your defending E.C. and rightfully so as your point is accurate and E.C. was just trying to help the OP.

OP/nytcrusader you are on a public forum and by creating a thread in a forum you can't expect to only hear things you'll like when doing so. E.C. is entitled to voice his opinion and has done it without being rude so why are you being so defensive? As a matter of fact he told you about the legality of it to try an protect you from accidentally outing yourself doing something illegal. While I don't know how strict your law enforcement in your area is in regards to these matters, in the states we have heard of officers monitoring these forums looking for exactly what you've provided so that they can take legal action against members breaking the law. You also can't hide your location from them because an ip address can be tracked to a general location, maybe even to a very specific address. I'm not sure as I only know what I've heard and experienced on other forums such as faunaclassifieds which was able to locate me down to the borough I live in. Mind you that's not because I was doing something illegal but I did experience them using my ip to locate me to verify that my listed location was accurate(due to the strict laws regarding reptile ownership and sales that varies widely by state and sometimes even boroughs) and when it wasn't I was contacted and denied access until I corrected it. So please take it for what it is, someone trying to help you when your doing something foolish due to lack of knowledge that could potentially get your pets seized, terminated and yourself fined.

As for live or artificial plants, I like live plants if you can keep them healthy. This takes some effort and correct lighting. Unless you specifically want a planted tank, I'd say go artificial. The decision on live plants should be based on if you want live plants, not other factors. It requires some planning and maintenance, not to mention better lighting than most people commonly have. There are some exceptions, but for most plants standard style lighting is insufficient.

Personally I would feed whole fish (with all the scales, bones, fins, organs) if available and not just fillet.
If you do decide to feed pellets make sure you don't over feed. Pellets contains very concentrated nutrients vs nature food item, if you feed the same volume your fish could become obese. and at the large size you do not need to feed them every day.

as for light brightness, they do like dimmer lights better but they will be fine with brighter light just take sometime for them to get use to the brighter light.
Live plants would be best but depends on the plants you want to go with things can get a bit more complicated since now you also have to satisfy the need of the plants in order for them to do well. and there's also the chance that your rbps may eat and/or uproot the plants.
fake plants would be the easiest but often they look....well..fake.

just curious, how's your tank maintenance schedule like? and water parameters?

Thanks for enlightening me. ill be more careful next time regarding my posts since its only my first time joining a forum. Regarding my maintenance, i change 40-50% water weakly and add chlorine (approx % tblspoon). Other than goldfish, what other types of fish can i feed them with?

I did. it said no feeding of goldfish. thats why im curious what other fish can i feed? besides from fillet. Someone suggested giving a whole fish instead of fillet.

It had a list of substitutes for goldfish.

As for whole fish from your market, anything white meat. Im not sure whats available in your market. I usually go with tilapia or perch myself

I was the first to say it and ill be the last.

Feeding hamsters is jacked up, like eventual murder status.... you are what you eat and the same applies to your pets. Hopefully you will stick to what you say and feed pellets and fillets, honestly wish I hadn't clicked on this thread to begin with but that's obviously too late.

Good luck op. I really hope your a man of your word.
