how to identify liquid kok from hard kok?????

So your stating that you know what is bred for a flowerhorn to be created? Please do tell because i'll tell you right now no one knows what was bred to achieve a flowerhorn.

You were stating that the genes didnt matter as much as how well you care for it here.

Keeping fh's with other fish grows the hump rather than make it smaller unless your fh is getting the submissive one. Water changes even make the hump smaller yet they return to their original size so you information about kok growth is very questionable.
 
I never said the genes didnt matter as much. A fh can have great head genetics but when improperly cared for those genes dont matter much. You are a brick wall. Just argue argue argue. We are here to share our hobby and chat fish. I dont claim to know it all but im tired of all the strange bs coming from some member.
Most of us are clued into the pure species that fh come from by now. It is all selective breeding to enhance the traits from those fish that gave us these sweet sweet hybrids.
 
And most fh keepers with great fh (myself included you fjfjf) know that they will pop a bigger head when they are the rulers of their domain, kept solo to reduce stress.

Look at my posts and try to find this bs, a improperly cared for fh will still blossom into a master piece if the care is crappy. That is the argument we are having.

Just because the care is "improper" doesn't mean that genetics mean any less. Its a 90% genes. What I'm getting from you is that if the flowerhorn doesn't have optimal care then genetics isnt 90% of the equation and it is less leading to the care given going up. No matter how well you care for you fish its genetically limited and no care is going to make it into something its not.
 
Ok- what I am saying is- genetics matter. What I am saying is - how you care for your fh matters. Its simple, I can prove it lol. An unhealthy fh, even with monster head genetics, will not grow a monster head if you dont take good care of it. A fh with monster head genetics that is kept with a more aggro fish will not pop a monster head. A fh with monster head genetics will not pop a monster head if it is living in crappy water. A fh does not grow a huge ball of muscle on its head EVER.

So lets use an example, as us humans. If someone is going to be tall there going to be tall. As long as they have the bare necessities they will grow to be tall correct? So a tall person is going to be tall no matter what he eats. For a fish the bare necessities are water and food. As long as they have those two things their genetics determines their hump. The water quality will have to be so poor the fish wouldn't be able to live in it to affect the genetics.
 
Why dont you do an experiment with YOUR water kok fh. Let it live with crap water, crap food, tankmates etc and lets see how relying on your fishes superior genes works out for the poor thing. I prefer my fish thriving, I can see the pay off when my fish are able to express their superior genetics.
